Why worry

It seems to me that noone really knows quite what we are really worried about; whether its rising sea levels, more storms or hotter weather , too much co2 or is it too much methane ? !

If we aren't even agreed about the problem, why are Rudd and Nelson so happy to sign sign up for solutions , like Kyoto? Is it beacause kyoto is no solution? Is it because kyoto is no solution and the reactionaries don't even know it! Fearmongers who sighs of relief about progress on resource management issues they dream up ( cf real ones we should be tackling) should ask themselves why no refinements happened in sydney recently - why, because talk fests aren't about making it work or even making work - rather they are mostly about middle or old ground and looking like we are doing something . So why are Rudd and Nelson so happy to sign sign up for Kyoto? Maybe they are happy to sign up because it isn't a solution at all ?

The greens have finally got what they wanted.( or have they? ) They should be happy . Rudd has signed the agreement - labor should be happy . No more worries then !

But do the greens really know what they want? Maybe thats why Rudd and Nelson are so happy to sign Kyoto? Because not only will the agreement do nothing, or say nothing significant, most people don't even know that it is that it says nothing .
perhaps its not worth the paper its printed on?
Do even the greens know what it means . What a win for our politicians They are seen to be doing something when they are doing nothing !!!!!! We hope ,if its true, it doesn't characterize Rudd's rule.

Fortunately we all know where the greens will go to next. They will want binding agreements. well kevin get the greens to tell you what form they shoud take and especially what bindings they propose on the general public - something fair of course . .
you see when the greens agree to a binding agreemnet to stop changing what they reckon we should do to stop the climate changing, the thinking public may consider supporting them . Otherwise we think this whole business is not seriuos stuff . "higher costs for energy= more taxes " more bureaucratic meddling in the market - i don't think so "binding agreemnets on carbon trading " - " you tell us how to do that Bob , would you? " . You seem to know all about what' s needed mate" -

When the greens work out how to do carbon trading agreements we will indeed have something to really worry about!!

I am not worried . i am not sure , anyone is really sure what we are really worried about - just that we are worried about something, and well, signing things does seem to ease the tension - for a moment at least .
